The "Flat 4B" group chat has been quiet for three weeks. Maya and Jenna have been roommates for two years, but ever since Jenna started dating Marcus, things have gotten weird. Tonight, Maya found a typed "Roommate Agreement" slid under her door, claiming she agreed to vacate by March 1.

hey can we talk in the group chat about the apartment stuff

**Maya:**
sure what's up

**Jenna:**
i know you found the agreement i left for you. just want to make sure everyone is on the same page about the timeline

**Maya:**
what timeline? i never agreed to move out. we signed a 12-month renewal in august

**Jenna:**

that's not my signature. i signed a renewal in august. i have a photo

**Jenna:**
sure you do. anyway, you've been late on rent since december. i'm not asking, i'm telling. time to go

The chat goes silent for five minutes. The photo shows a dated lease renewal with clear signatures from both Maya and Jenna.

okay that looks legit

that photo is doctored. i don't know what maya is playing at but i'm done with this

**Jenna has left the chat**

Maya stares at her phone. Jenna changed the Wi-Fi password within minutes. She can't even pay her share of the bill.

hey maya. jenna is giving everyone the silent treatment. the group is split. some people are saying you should just leave

**Maya:**
she forged that document. and she changed the wifi password

**Liam:**
i know. i still have the screenshot of the photo you posted. i'm looking at it now. the signatures match

**Maya:**
what do i do

**Liam:**
i'll convene a video call tomorrow. just us, jenna, anya, maybe dave. we'll sort this out

The video call starts at 7pm. Liam holds up his phone showing Maya's photo and Jenna's document side by side. The signatures are visibly different.

**Liam:**
jenna, can you explain the discrepancy?

Jenna stares into her camera, arms crossed. "I'm done talking. Maya knows what she did." The call ends with no resolution, but Liam texts Maya after: "I believe you. I'll help you find a lawyer."
